Description
The Hönig brewery in Tiefenellern has an old tradition. The brewery and the inn "Zur Post" have been family-owned since 1778. The brewing right has existed since 1478 and can be documented.

Tap at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa in Rome. Clear honey bright color, tick foamy head. Nose: pinch of dyacetil, grass, rustic rich maltiness (cookies). Mouth is pretty malty and sweet, again dyacetil. Not in shape.

Bocken varer lige til påske. Golden with a small white head. Light, bready malt aroma with a metallic note. Sweet malty flavour with herbal hops and a nice bitter finish.

Bottle @ Dolles Bockstival, 5000 Odense C. Pours clear golden with a white head and lacings. Cereal, grass, bread and crust.

Süffig malzig, mittig angenehm bitter, hinten süßlich. Sehr leckeres Kastenlager.

Meine 1.500ste Bewertung auf RAB: “Hönig Bockbier hell“, Flasche (50 cl) vom Landbierparadies, Nürnberg (für den Bockbier-Anstich auf dem Diller-Keller war ich leider zu spät dran). - Goldbraun, schwach trüb. - In der Nase breites, leicht karamelliges helles Malz mit Waldhonig, kräuterige Hopfenherbe. - Antrunk breit hellmalzig und kräftig hopfenbitter mit kandierter Orangenschale und Kräutern. Etwas stärker rezent als nötig aber von bocktypischer Schwere. Im Abgang wuchtige Orangenschalenherbe, trocken und lange nachhängend. - Sehr kräftig aber etwas schroff (mit “Hopfenauszügen“) gehopfter heller Bock.

500ml bottle kindly shard by djoeye. Solid, off-white head leaving spotty lacing down the glass. Clear amber coloured body. Lightly smoked aroma, hints of forest and brown malts. Taste of smoked meat and caramel malts. Smoked malty endnotes. Smooth on the swallow. Fine depth. Nice. (Oktoberfest, Pivoteka H7, Tromsø 26.10.2017).

500ml bottle kindly shared by djoeye. Covering layer over a clear golden body. Dotted spots on the glass. Mid-sweet grainy malts on the nose, hints of grass. Honeyed malty flavours. Rounded mid-sweet finish. Clean and easy to drink. Just okay. (Oktoberfest, Pivoteka H7, Tromsø 26.10.2017).

Bottle at bottle share Bad Staffelstein. Quite a fruity heller bock. Not too sweet. Not overly bitter. Quite easy drinking. White stone fruit. Clean malt clean yeast. Touch of residual sugar. Good.

Brilliant clear medium to deep amber colour, small frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, minimal lacing. Smoked aroma, roasted malts, caramel, sausage, bacon, burned wood. Smooth taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, caramel, smoky undertones. Sweetbitter aftertaste, malty caramel and light spicy notes, medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation. Light and smooth rauchbier, easy to drink.
