Perfectly clear, just very deep copper, bronze and amber coloured body with a very thin, barely noticeable single centimetre tall lighter brown head that has a glimmer of copper, just very thin. Aroma of super soured, bretty and oaky, spontaneously fermented notes with some citrus fruit here as well, but a barrel, oaky and cedary finish makes this smell like a really old barrel aged beer from belgium - nice! Light-bodied; Crisp, super funky and ultra-soured, citrus fruity and lactobilly note shows through everything with a dry, grassy and yes, lemoney finish with some light malts, wheat and a touch of the malts coming through, but this really is about sugars, yeast, funk and a lot of acidic qualities, especially at the end. Aftertaste is crisp, clean and very thin, with the citrus fruits remaining pungent and some bretty and lactobilly notes very strong too, especially at the end from the complexity they bring out from the dry notes. Overall, a decent and relatively strong, pungent and soured, tart beer with some citrus notes, but much more complexity from the yeast and bretty notes that are evident throughout this one. Interesting and nice to sample, but a bit too funky for most consumers with only a citrus twang and subtle sweetness to save it for most normal drinkers. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased from Mac's Beer and Wine in Atlanta, Georgia (in Midtown ATL) on 26-May-2018 for US3,43 sampled almost exactly four years later at my house here on Mother's Day on 08-May-2022 to celebrate my wife with our three kids.
