Pours a pale, lemongold, clear. Scent is ... waauw... Diapers ( and I mean new diapers, not actual feces ) honey - but the industrial kind. Not at all even remotely similar to the 'base' maple mead they make. over the top funkyness, florality. I guess this is the type of scent you either love or hate, guess I'm in the unlucky second category. Taste is suite rough, over the top florality. very intense aroma's. Semi-sweet at best, in favor of the dry side. Little beyond the mindboggeling intensity of florality. Not my thing at all.

Pours a clear , pale, exaclty-benchmark-lemon yellow. Scent is very full, some glue-like smoothness, woody almost, very expressive floral honey. great nosing due to the uniqueness it has to me, yet not at all maple syrup like ( I know, it simply isn't, but a man can dream ) Not sure if I really dig it, but all the credit for uniqueness. Taste is smooth, fairly light, easy going, very floral, mild bitterness, alcohol fairly high. Body fairly thin, only semi-sweet (or even off-dry) . Don't really love it, i'm afraid. Quite harsh to drink, but glad I've tried it.

Pours clear, yellowgold. Scent is an unexpected nice surprise; reminicent of Ice Cider. Applesauce, fairly intense. Honey is a bit lost though, making this a bit out of balance for a Cyser to me, yet I can leave that behind and just enjoy it for what it is. Taste is fairly full, bit to the dry side (though still sweet) compared with ice cider. Mild honeyfunk, raw appleskins. not as smooth as Ice cider, not honey enough to be a great cyser to me. Decent attempt, but might improve with some backsweetening with honey.

Pours a darkened copper, yet very clear. Scent is boiled-down berry juice, with quite some twig-aroma. almost a peppery impression as well. Honey presence is very very mild. Taste is so unexpected, dry, slick, very tannic, herbal, mild fruityness. hard to drink - mostly due to the mouthfeel. Quite some acidity - making me wonder if this sample is off ? Honey remains very hidden. Not for me.

Pours a clear gold. Scent is showing quite a bit of ginger, hops are milder, giving some herbal notes rather than dry-hop like aroma's we all know (and some of us love) from IPA's. The blend doesn't really work to me, together with the smooth honey character underneath, the total seems a bit... Weird. a bit of a mess, gives a stale impression without actually being stale. Taste is smooth , sweet (not over the top) honey, medium ginger ( noticable in aroma's, but doesn't feel that ginger-spicy). Hops makes this mildly (!) bitter, bit herbal. Not bad at all, but the blend doesn't really work for me. Overall also not the highest standard of base mead, fairly simple but free from any flaws.
