Description
In the Wild East, you have to work together. Therefore three friends joined forces and started to brew beer in the old smithery of Purtse castle. Their holy desire was to make beer so good that you would become sad when the glass started to empty.

The men of Purtse do not hold annual press conferences in Narva, nor do they give empty promises about improving everyday life of Ida-Virumaa. They are doing it here and now, because they like it wild in here.

330ml bottle @ SIP. Pours golden, quite clear and withs ome white foam on top. Nose is clean, malty-grainy and crisp, hint of some hops. Tastes also malty and crisp, clean and no pointless sourness there, nice well balanced lager. Dry finish with a light hop bitterness, body is not too sweet. Well made and definitely well drinkable, would have this again.

33cl bottle from Selver, Tallinn. Pours clear golden with a white head. Grainy, grassy and somewhat fruity aroma with hints of yeast. Moderate sweet with some acidity and fairly low flavour intensity, but a pleasant bitterness. Fairly easy to drink.se --- Beer merged from original tick of Kämp on 22 Jul 2018 at 15:15 - Score: 6

Bottle. Pours dark brown, lots of foam, looks a bit over-carbonated, light brown/yellow. Nose has light roast, blackberries - and lots of plastic, with a bit of chalk. That plastic is not so great, coming also in taste. Good bitterness but overall some plasticky feel to it, sour and finishes with a bit weird light bitter linger. Interesting style but executions is not so great.

(Keg at HOP õllekelder, Pärnu, 20180710) The beer poured deep golden and lightly hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness and herbalness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, herbalness, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, hoppy and bitter. A rather good hoppy brew with some not so pleasing herbal notes.

Bottle from SIP. Pour straw, light haze and not too much foam. Nose is thick with umami, light herbal basil thee and also strong malty base. Tart. Quite tart also in taste, tomato integrated well, feels thick although the beer itself has relatively low abv. Salty and ultimately thirst-quenching. Was not hoping much but actually quite nice experience.

Bottle from Stockmann Tallinn. Pours dark golden amber, some foam on top. Nose has some Belgian yeast, quite fresh overall, fruity apple character. Clean. Taste has some Belgian spices, has some body to it, some intensity in flavour. Not bad and drinks easier than its abv would suggest.
