About
Epli Sideri si historie starta tilbake i 2015 då dei to brødrene Kristian og Karl Magnus starta å lage eplemost og sider på familiegarden på Sekse i Hardanger. Dei to brødrene danna då selskapet Hardangergutane. Kort tid etter oppstart kom kona til Kristian, Inger, inn i selskapet. Det heile starta på låven i den gamle driftsbygningen på familiegarden på Sekse kor brødrene begge er vokst opp. Etter nokre år vaks Hardangergutane ut av driftsbygningen, og flytta inn i eit større lokale i eit gammalt fruktlager på Børve. (Ullensvangvegen 1525) Inger og Kristian kjøpte i 2021 ein ny og større gard på Sekse kor dei på kort tid har gjort eit omfattande arbeid med å plante opp nye frukthager, samt at dei også etter kort tid starta å planlegge bygging av nytt produksjonslokale.
I 2023 valgte Karl Magnus å gå ut av selskapet og Inger og Kristian tok over drifta. Sommaren 2024 går Hardangergutane inn i ein ny og spennende epoke kor produksjonen blir flytta tilbake på Sekse i nye og meir tilpassa lokale. Summen av desse endringane gjorde at vi hadde ønske om å skapa ein tydeligere identitet, og navnet Epli Sideri såg dagens lys.

Shared bottle at RB/HD at Bjørnøy 06.06.20. Clear, pale colour of white wine. Almost no head. Complex aroma and taste of fresh sour apples and wild apples. Good!

0,75 flaske fra polets nettbutikk, delt på RBHD-samling på Bjørnøy juni-20: hvitvinsfarge uten skum. Nydelig og sammensatt eplearoma som gir meg flashback til vår roadtrip og ciderkvelden på Lofthus for fire år siden. Halvtørr avslutning.

0,7 flaske fra polet i Valkendorfsgaten, delt med Børge &Karen mai-20: klar lys rosagylden med kort bruseskum. Liflig duft og herlig smak med syrligsøte Hardangerepler og et kledelig hint av kanel og lær.

GYG 070919. Pale golden color with a some white bubbles . Aroma is apple, sourness. Flavor is apple, yeast, sulphur, sourness, alcohol, grass. Nice cider.

Bottle, 75cl. A clear, pale golden colored beer with some white bubbles. The aroma has a touch of alcohol, with lots of apples, some apple jam and a touch of grass. It has a touch of yeast and sulphur in the flavor, but it's mostly apples. Apple jam, apple cores and a herbal, grassy hint. Medium to full body, with some warmth and a soft carbonation. Long finish. A very nice one, although a bit sulphury in the flavor. 190907

Small bubbly mediumlasting head, clear light reddish color. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, apple cores, grass, red fruits, minerals, alcohol, apple peel, hay, sour apples. Taste is dry sour-ish fruity, grass, apple cores, hay, minerals, alcohol, apple peel, bark. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh sour-ish grassy mouthfeel. Not really my cup of coffee.

Taste is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, apple cores, hay, flowers, alcohol, apple peel, sour grass, unripe apples, leafs, citrus. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and harsh sour-ish fruity mouthfeel. Fair enough.
