Draft. Aroma of hay, citrus and grassy hop. Taste has hay, sweet citrus, malt, grass and yeast. More like a saison.

Bottle 500ml @ Hotel room, Scandic hotel, Grimstad
Courtesy of bergstaden Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, chocolate, roasted, coffee and vanilla finsih. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Tap at DOK. Juicy-ass nose, grapefruit and orange juice, tropical. Cloudy yellow, low head. Sweet and juicy, wheat, citrus. Finish is a bit pasty and boring. Otherwise decent.

American amber ale featuring the classic combo of Amarillo, Centennial and Chinook hops, sampled at Gents Bierfestival. Medium thick, egg-white, opening head, clear orange blonde robe, close to actual amber but not quite. Aroma of dried orange peel, dough, soggy peanuts, hard caramel candy, crisp fried apples. Sweetish onset, cleanly fruity as befits an Anglo-Saxon ale, sweet mandarin and mango aspects, slick and softly carbonated body. Peanutty malt base underneath a growing New World hoppiness, eventually shifting to a long citrus peel- and pine-like, almost old school West Coast hoppiness, thoroughly bittering. Unremarkable for an American craft beer in this day and age but it has to be mentioned, this is actually a very well-made example, if closer to 'red IPA' or anything IPA-like in general than to what I traditionally see as American amber ale...

Draught Accajou beer, clear, under a good dense cream-coloured head, leaving textbook lace. Nose suggesting clean bitterness, along some caramel. Harsh-ish, resiny, horsechestnut bitter; dry, bit empty finish, but very good main taste. Hints at dry dark bread and even some bitter chocolate. Warming up, it presents choice New World hops. Light body, bit undercarbonated. Excellent red ale, difficult style to make shine.

19/VIII/18 - on tap @ DOK Brewing Company (Gent) - BB: n/a (2018-1060)
Very cloudy yellow beige beer, small creamy off-white head, dissipates quickly. Aroma: very malty, bit smoky, grains, bit cheesy, dank hops, bit fruity, orange peel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweetish start, lots of orange peel, bitter touch, mango and papaya, ripe fruits, some grapefruit, citrus, orange juice, soft acidity. Aftertaste: very dry, pretty bitter, more orange juice, fruity, decent stuff!

Light brown colour with foamy head. Aroma and flavour have a nice balance of malt and hop. Moderately bitter.
