Draft glass @ Gollem. Ugly hazy orange, white head. Nose is doughy, low chalky almost pastry-like haze,… taste is cheesecake, sweet stone fruit, haze, caramel,… Nice but oddly sweet bit cheesecake tasting haze.

Draft glass @ Gollem. Expected more haze here but luckily got a very nice old school West Coast IPA, nothing explossive or outspoken but just very tasty & well-done. Hazy orange, creamy white head. Nose is pine resin & grapefruit peel west coast plus malty, resin,… Taste is dried orange peel, pine resin, caramel, almost medicinal hop, malt, grain, pine, hay,… Thick & chewy.

Can. Very hazy orange beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate with good trailing minerally carbonation. Soft malts, creamy sweet. Ripe orange and intertwined fresh orange. Smooth and slightly ripe tropical fruits and a little soft pine. Smooth finish. A mellow but tasty and drinkable dipa.

Thx! Draft @ Gollem: Craft Beer Madness #2. Dark brown, touch black, little head. Nose is mellow milk chocolate, sweet praline, faint umami, chocolate,… Very mild beer that is bit more of a quad, chocolate, praline, mocha, faint praline / chocolate taste, vanilla is barely there oddly sadly, good & tasty but definitely not what expected.

Imperial porter, tasted at Gollem in Antwerp, thanks Jeroen for sharing. Thin, loose and eventually dissolving, pale brownish, open head leaving no lacing; translucent chestnut brown robe with a wine red hue. Aroma of walnut liqueur, Belgian chocolates, vanilla beans, brown rum, cola, nutmeg, cinnamon, coffee cream. Sweet onset with sourish edge, lots of candied fig, nutty maltiness, softly carbonated; smooth and rounded, pleasant mouthfeel, toffeeish malt sweetness with a slightly balancing, toasty bitterish edge and a dash of spicy hop bitterishness, followed by strong, rum-like, warming – or better: heating – alcohol. I was hoping for more expressive vanilla because I love it in this kind of beers, perhaps it already faded a bit, but this beer remains delicious, if a tad too boozy in the finish for me personally.
