11/1/2023. Bottle courtesy of saxo. Pours hazy/cloudy dull orange gold with a frothy white head. Decent aroma, sweet tropical fruits, orange, citrus, straw. Taste is quite balanced and whilst it's watery it's very acceptable for a low alcohol beer.

Bottle. A very lightly hazy deep golden colored beer with a small, dense off-white head. The aroma is quite malty, with a light fruityness. Bread, caramel, some diacetyl, pine cones, grass, peppery notes and some dusty malts. It's medium to full-bodied and nicely, although a bit heavily, carbonated, semi-dry and with a light bitterness. The flavor has a backdrop of bread and pale malts, with caramel and some diacetyl hint, with piney, resiny and grassy hops up front. Rather sweet swallow. Although not unheard of in a Czech pilsner, I'd prefer the beer without diacetyl, even though it's a low levels. Besides that, it's a decent brew indeed. 230111

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Clear copper colour, small head. Perfumy roasty malt up front. Sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Lots of boiled vegetables, some stale butter and caramel. Metallic finish. Royal Unibrew style flawed, sloppy stuff.

ALC 6.0% ACCORDING TO BOTTLE. COULD BE A CHANGED RECIPE. Nutty aroma, brown sugar, caramel. Flavor is dark caramel, roasted malts, darker more bitter nuts, note that reminds me of lava stone caramelization, subtle notes of dark dried fruits, i would have guessed from belgian yeasts but they also added dark dried fruits so perhaps also that. pretty well rounded, i think perhaps the bitterness is partly from slåen (blackthorn). it is a slightly herbal sort of bitterness. In any case, a nice dubbel with lots of flavor and with some added stuff that makes it a bit different from your ordinary dubbel. Tastes good. Would work well in a usual danish christmas environment (with the food, snacks etc). Looking at prior rates I think this one is better and different than described. alc% also down 2%, so perhaps they have tweaked it this year (for the better, flavor is huge for 6.0%) Schiøtz Mørk Jule Ale bbf 03.06.23

0,5 from tap at Ala with Snegurochka. Pours a thick hazy matte dark yellow body with a sparkling white frothy head which is very pleasing to the eye. Spotted lacing covers the inside of the glass when head slowly vanishes. Quite strong aroma of wild strawberries and vanilla ice cream makes you think of summer desserts. Not what was expected for a NEIPA but that is certainly not necessarily a big problem. The citrusy bitterness is also present but not as significant as with many of its brethren in this category. Once in the mouth the carbonation is a level above expected but it is still quite juicy and a pleasing mouthful. Flavour is decent enough but as with the aroma the strawberries and vanilla dominate proceedings together with a dry initial bitterness that soon disappears and leaves the vanilla. Decent but although interesting this beer kind of flies under a false flag when categorised as a NEIPA, at least according to this reviewer.

can from 7/11 at valby station. hazy yellow, smooth white head. strong aroma of fruity hops, yeast. Flavor is lemon juice, yeast, much fainter hops than in the aroma, grapefruit juice, crisp malts, but softened quite a bit by what might be oats or wheat malts. so in a way smooth and soft, in a way crisp. at the same time. and fruit juices. Interesting brew, and not something you would expect out of a macro brewery - quite authentically interesting and daring.
