Pours dark, rather clear, caramelly brown. Small white head. Smell is full, fridge-aged chocolate. Bit caramel. mildly earthy. Taste is sharp, bit tart, fridge-aged chocolate. Low quality chocolate , milder caramel, not great

Summer beer by this young Walloon microbrewery, tasted at Gebrande Winning as part of a foodpairing event. Thick and frothy, egg-white, large-bubbled yet stable head over a cloudy peach blonde beer with 'dirty' amberish hue. Aroma of old rusk, dried orange peel, dusty old coriander seed, soggy brown bread, banana, melon, jute bags, unripe peach, red apple peel. Fruity, estery onset, notes of melon, peach and apricot with a dash of banana, medium carb, soft fluffy body; very bready maltiness with lightly toasty-peanutty edges, spicy coriander seed and dried orange peel effects in the finish with an earthy-bready yeast aspect, a floral hop bitter note and lingering fruity esters. Intended as an amber coloured variation on the old witbier theme apparently and in that sense not far removed from the 'winter-themed' witbieren by larger producers (think Hoegaarden Spéciale or the winter version of Bavik's Wittekerke), though ironically intended as a summer beer. Very Belgian in all its respects, with that same bready and spicy, dryish profile I remember from other Clocher beers. From the bottle. Light brown with a frothy beige head that lingers. Aroma of caramel, berries, tangerine, mixed candy. Goes down quite dry, mildly bitter, with a light warmth at the back. Medium body with a mildly prickly carbonation. Decent.

33 cl bottle at Namur's Citadelle. It pours cloudy brown with loads of long-lasting, foamy, off-white head. Aroma is biscuit, orange, peach, grapefruit. Fizzy and dry in the mouth, medium-bodied, fresh and slightly bitterish. Not very long finish.

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As Du Clocher Philomène Hoptim Ale ].[ Trade by kraddel ]. Clear medium orange amber colour with a large to huge, frothy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, dusty, moderate yeasty, fruity yeast, belgium yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, caramel, nutty, dusty, fruity yeast, belgium yeast, peppery notes.
