500mL bottle, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is full of perfumey paint thinner from the bourbon, followed by apples and pears, and a bit of bready caramel. Flavour is boozy, bringing out low-quality bourbon, apple, pear, perfumey, and sugars. A boozy, sugary, apple-y mess, with low-quality bourbon. Poor.

500ml @ Matt's new place. Appearance: clear dark copper with almost no head. Aroma: sweet red apples, perfumy, apple skins. Did someone mixed bourbon barrel with a calvados one? Taste: along the same lines, very intense, boozy. Overall: not good.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Blond colour, dull, slightly hazy. Delicate aroma of smoke, and mellow malt. There's a nice bread base, moderate smoke (not excessive, but evident), maybe a bit too much sweetness, and balanced bitterness (why not keeping the sweetness but increasing the bitterness just by a handful of IBUs).
Pleasant.

Slight haze, pale amber, not much head, big weyermann smoked malt character. Yeah it's gloppy and not extracted well, but there's enough smoke to make me happy. Why you'd volunteer to be the 2nd best BC beer to have this name I don't know, not very original.

473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a small, foamy, short lived, off-white head that laces. Mild aroma of grainy caramel malt and floral hops. Sweet flavour of toasted biscuit malt, caramel, earthy yeast and leafy green hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and average to soft carbonation. Tasty and easy to put back.

473mL can, pours a dark amber/caramel colour with a tiny head, hinting at undercarbing. Aroma is quite caramely, with sweet caramel bready malt, and a touch of herbal notes. Flavour is very malty, with lots of caramel, bready malt, and a hint of toasted nuts. The carbonation is definitely abnormally low, which highlights the above average sweetness that is too high. This needs some work.
