Description
Moonwake: “the moon’s reflection on a body of water” speaks to the brewery’s Leith Shore location, the importance of water as an ingredient, and our beer’s reflection of our collective experience.

Our beer is precision brewed with mindful intention on modern technology using quality ingredients.

Our founders started their beer careers on opposite sides of the world, Vinny in New Zealand and Fin in the UK. They bring over a decade of collective experience in brewing to Moonwake, for both of them brewing is their creative outlet.

Cask, obvs, at the Hanging Bat. Pours just-clear yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of sour orange. Taste is more of the same. Probably not at its best, which is par for the course here at the moment sadly.

440ml can from Corks of Cotham. Deep and hazy gold in colour, with a moderately-sized, yet long lasting white head. Juicy hop aroma of mango, lemon and guava, with a whit pepper kick. Flavour was also very fruity, with a hint of pine and green herbs, leading on to a dry finish. Very good.

One-third, tap at Mother Kelly's Tottenham. Cloudy golden body, clingy lacing from a low, white head. Inviting citrus aromas, orange up front. Tasty with a decent hop fruity impact of orange and grapefruit, underlying malt base. Rounded hop fruity ending with satisfying bitterness. Pleasing. (London, 07.12.2023).
