Description
Our current kit can produce up to 20 brewer’s barrels, depending on the beer and how heavily hopped it is. We have 10 fermentation vessels, with the most recent additions being oversized to allow double brews of our more popular beers. Having started as a one-man operation, the business has slowly expanded to the current team of eight as demand, production, brew house and premises size have increased.

We put a premium on quality and consistency, which means monitoring the beer at every stage of the brewing process and beyond. Much of our equipment, i.e. our keg washing & filling machine and our bottling machine, were chosen with this in mind.

Dark with a thin, lively brown head which soon fizzes away. Big malty aroma with toffee. Flsvour is big on malt too, sweet and toasty. Dark chocolate, some dried fruit, a bit of berry tanginess, some toffee again. Lingering, roasted malt finish with a good body. Very good.

21/11/2024. Keg at The Dove Street Inn Winter Beer Festival, Ipswich. Pours cloudy pale orange gold with a small creamy/frothy white head. Aroma is citrusy, husky, grapefruit, white grape, gooseberry, straw, slight barnyard edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness, some drying tartness. Average carbonation. Good kiwi hopped beer.

568ml can. A present bought (I think) from HoTM, York and drunk at home. Brownish gold, clear with a small ring of white head. Nose for me is big raisin and a lot of caramel. Sweet taste, not a hint of bitterness. Lots of vanilla here, some Biscoff, TCP. I think I'm getting some of the citrus right at the finish. It's a good beer but not a great one: a little bit sickly in places and too samey in flavour, but I love the cleverness of the recipe. So a solid 3.5.

Hand-pulled pint at the Pheasant Inn and Brewhouse on 11th November 2024. Golden body, dull gold actually, white affair on top. Citrussy but all a bit wishy-washy and subtle, not the most exciting Arbor out there.

Draft at the Jolly Fisherman, Hastings. Poured almost black in colour with a mostly lasting light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, ashtray. The flavour is moderate sweet and liqourice bitter, with a smooth, somewhat rich, roasty, dry ashtray, light caramel, liquorice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.
