Deep dark, almost black beer, at least once the gushing (-1 pt) foxy greige head receded. Sweet, very woody, chocolate, dessert wine, plywood. Ashy flavour with wood, chocolate. Background has lactic acid, if mellow. Bit roast, stout-like flavour. Despite the acids, feels better bodied than it probably is. Quite slick, almost viscous, (too) good carbonation. Style?? A Schwarzbier with lactic fermentation? Curious beer, original, and far from bad.

Thick, quite stable white head as whipped eggwhite over well-carbonated dull golden beer. Strange nutty nose with meaty esters, cabbage-sulphur. Again nutty, vegetable sulphur bonds, Sauerkraut, chalk, unripe fruit. Finish has some lemon. Light body if quite slick, bit oily feel. Weird, really weird - but it grew on me. Certainly worth trying.

Small white head over fully hazy orange beer. Sweet, bubble gum, sweet preserved sugared fruit. Rotting fruit, again childrens' fruit gums, oversweet sugared mushrooms, pharmaceutical, bitter and sweet almonds warming up. Alcoholic, boozy, alcoholwarming, long-lasting sweetness. Is this fermented out? Oversweet and perfumed, just not my cup of beer...

Very dense, huge, cream-russet head over virtually black beer. Chocolate, mocha, wood, liquorice, faitn smoke/ashy aroma, but also lactic, wild ferments. Light stout acidity, again bit lactic, but dominated by a lot of fiery roast. Rich, with wood, chocolate, tobacco, mocha - yet ont heavy. Fruity notes (strawberry with dark chocolate topping?). Feels better bodied than it probably is, the complexity helping. Good carbonation, viscous to a certain extent. Complex beyond its apparent style.

Batch 19 Small head, reduced in seconds to white rim over hazy orange beer. Interesting nose of saddle soap and lactic acid; faint (unripe) exotic fruit, hints of yoghurt. Lactic acid, opening up with fruit and vegetables, peach liqueur. Preserved fruit as sucade, with just a hint at ginger, pineapple. Despite the jumble, very balanced impression. Light body, there is acidthinning but almost no acidburn.The alcohol - 9%ABV anyway - remains totally hidden. Dry aftertaste. Good! Maybe not as deep complex as a lambic, but the balance in flavours in remarkable.
