Narrowboat Farm, Linlithgow, EH49 6QY, Scotland
Description
Strangers Brewing Co. sits in an old veg shed on Narrowboat Farm, an eco-friendly market garden farm in central Scotland. We have been brewing here since 2021, making distinctive, delicious, craft beer with a local flavour. Our aim is to make good beer that brings people together, creates community and turn strangers into friends.
At Strangers Brewing Co. we brew craft beer, by hand in small batches. We have a core range of beers which are available all year round, as well as seasonal specials that take their flavours from what’s growing on the farm and the surrounding Scottish countryside. We want to make beer that’s full of flavour yet balanced, interesting without being ‘wacky’. We make beer that we enjoy drinking, instead of just following what everyone else is doing.

11/3/2026. Can bought direct from the brewery. Pours pretty well. Aroma is malty, caramel, buttery, hoppy, touch dank and piney, berries, old school edge. Some odd burnt plastic and polythene comes through on the taste. Starts better than it finishes.

11/3/2026. Can bought direct from the brewery. Nice pour. Aroma is pastry, hedgerow blackberry, cinnamon, hints of perfume. Medium sweetness, light bitterness, slight tart edge. Drying edge. Thin. But quite drinkable.

Can. Clear deepish gold beer, a decent bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, a touch of natural grain, biscuit and mild not-that-sweet caramel. Hops bring cooling pine, some mild ripe citrus and a whisper of English hop orchard fruits. Clean and crisp with a trad taste. Tidy.

10/2/2026. Can bought direct from the brewery. Pours fine. Aroma is quite grainy, malty, some stewed fruits, slight spiced orange notes. Quite sweet, mild bitterness, touch of tart. Has a crispness to it. Not bad. Hybrid beer part-pale/blonde, part-lager/Kölsch and it does pick up those latter elements.
