Description
Sörműves Kft.

Horizont Brewing is an innovative, indepentent craft brewery, one of the first big names in the craft brewing scene in Hungary. With many medals earned, we are proud to announce that Horizont Brewing was the first mid-European brewery to win the Alltech Craft Beer Cup in 2017 in Dublin. The Sailor Belle, a Belgian Witbier fermented with Saison yeast, is still one of our bestsellers.

What we like is the versatility of our consumers. Our beers are gladly consumed by beer connoisseurs and everyday beer drinkers, and we created our beer portfolio to fulfill everyone's beer needs. Our beers are available in all Michelin star restaurants in Hungary and can be found in most of the craft beer bars around Budapest.

We believe brewing is an art form.

We try expressing that through our labels as well not only by whats inside on the bottles. For that reason we worked with a local artist who created artworks we used on our labels, specifically capturing the essence of the character of the beer on the canvas.

Keg at WBB Balham. Pours black with a thin off white head. Aroma is toasted coconut, chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Taste is a nice coconut sweetness with a bit of chocolate and marshmallow. Sweetness balances out by roast malts and a hint of bitter coffee. Nice

330mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out rotting vegetables, with overripe fruits and light citrus. Flavour is loaded with overripe fruits, rotting vegetables, and biscuity malt. Too much vegetal character and overripe fruits. Not pleasant.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted coconut, bready malt and a hint of caramel. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of fresh coconut, like a candied coconut. Like drinking coconut candy without much sweetness. Very good.

Rerate, bottle, batch 133, thanks I&M, shared with heavy. Honeyish golden body. Citrusy malty aroma, cantaloupe (?!), not bad really. Good body, solid maltiness, orange-like hoppiness, subtle, bitterish, very drinkable for the ABV and ultimately tasty. Not bad!Bottle, thanks Tamás! Batch 107. Poured a murky amberish ochre body with a white head. Soft grainy and sugary taste, green fruit from the hops perhaps (not green apple) Light, dry taste, not that hoppy, just some random fruit. Drinkable but... not the greatest of DIPAs. This brewery started out quite well at the tasting, but their hoppy beers need work... or the bottles were just not that fresh. 6/4/6/3/13
