Description
Sörműves Kft.
Horizont Brewing is an innovative, indepentent craft brewery, one of the first big names in the craft brewing scene in Hungary. With many medals earned, we are proud to announce that Horizont Brewing was the first mid-European brewery to win the Alltech Craft Beer Cup in 2017 in Dublin. The Sailor Belle, a Belgian Witbier fermented with Saison yeast, is still one of our bestsellers.
What we like is the versatility of our consumers. Our beers are gladly consumed by beer connoisseurs and everyday beer drinkers, and we created our beer portfolio to fulfill everyone's beer needs. Our beers are available in all Michelin star restaurants in Hungary and can be found in most of the craft beer bars around Budapest.
We believe brewing is an art form.
We try expressing that through our labels as well not only by whats inside on the bottles. For that reason we worked with a local artist who created artworks we used on our labels, specifically capturing the essence of the character of the beer on the canvas.

Bottled. Enormous thanks Tamás! Poured a murky brown body with no head. Solid, soft aroma, mixing coconut notes with a soft maltiness. This beer shines, however, taste-wise. Lovely coconut notes backed by a light chocolate touch. Basically, at times, it seemed like a liquid Bounty bar. Ends dry and just vaguely herbal. A case of "don't judge a book by its cover" indeed. Props!

Bottle (thanks Tamás)! Batch 111. Amber body, white head. Huh... the aroma is too sweet, crystal malt, peachy and lemony notes. Sweetish, mainly malty taste, slightly cream, vague traces of hops, ending in a solid nice bitterness. Not that bad, just... needs tweaking.

Bottle (thanks Tamás), batch 96. Murky golden body with a white head. Nice peachy and grainy aroma. Mild peachy hoppiness in the taste, on soft grainy notes, MIld bitter finish. Did I mention it was mild? Still, a nice light everyday beer.

Bottle (thanks Tamás)! Batch 116. Poured a hazy yellow body with almost no head. Coriander and wheat malt dominate the aroma. Sweetish, just slightly tart taste, coriander mostly, with a mild funky counterpoint at times, ending a bit dry. Nice mild wit, different than the norm.

Bottled (thanks Tamás!), batch 121. Poured a hazy yellow-golden body with a white head. Smells, well, like a zwickl mostly, almost funky, hay-like, yeasty, slightly perfumey, dry. The taste, however, is completely different, dry, nice and clean, herbal bitterness, a flowery touch, light bitter hop finish. A fine little lager!

Bottle from Pivný raj Hungarian brewery no.4 Light juicy ale from tangerines, hoppy finish, light to medium bitter. Easy drinking, though could have been more juicy.

Keg at Craft Beer Rising 2018 - London. Wow, a real beast. Pours mostly clear gold with a foamy, white head. Quite meaty, tons of ripe citrus, pine oils, moderate bitterness. Full bodied, chewy, with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming finish, a little gooey and resinous, lots more ripe and juicy citrus fruits. Really good stuff. Punchy juice.
