Tap at the purple fiddle. Pours dark brown with little head. nose of dark malts and cocoa. tastes of chocolate, cola, oats, and light vanilla and pine. a touch too thin and watery with not a lot going on. but i very much enjoyed my time at purple fiddle enjoying this brew.

Tap at the Purple Fiddle. Pours amber with sweet citrus nose. tastes of grapefruit, caramel, pepper, and ginger. nice little backbone and slightly sweet finish.

on tap-pours a light tan head and gold color. Aroma is resin/orange, some medium malt. Taet is biting hops, secondary light/medium malt.

on tap-pours a rich light brown head and black color. Aroma is sweet dark malt-cocoa. Taste is dark malt/oat-cocoa, secondary earthy hops.

On tap at Gene’s in Morgantown. Big glass for $2.50. Darker and slightly more hazy than the ubiquitous pale yellow american lager. Slight aroma of fruit and tartness which carries over to the taste experience. Fruity and rotten weird in it’s own friendly way. Barely any carbonation. Not too much hops but certainly a flavor impression like no other amber ale I’ve tasted. This is surprising because there really is no hop bitter bite in this brew. Rather enjoyable to an extent. Unique and a very different kind of micro ale. Glad to have had the chance to taste this special beer.

On tap at the Black Bear in Morgantown. I must be getting a different stout, here they call it Black Bear Oatmeal Stout. Big black pour. Pretty cool head and it’s thin. Has a slight roasty attractive aroma. Not quite as mild as a sweet stout but certainly not more than an imp stout. A good example of what dark beer should be. Good carbonation and this is welcomed in such a dark one. Does not possess the terrible imp stout bitter lingering bite. Definitely is a mild back of throat feeling that reminds me of meat charred on the grill.
