Cask, Duck and Drake, Leeds. Pale amber colour, floral aroma. Lovely grapefruit/lemon flavour with a dry bitter finish. Really enjoyed this one. Recommended.

Half pint on gravity at London Drinker 08. No head. Straw-yellow body. Mild hoppy smell. Taste of rather tang fruity hops. Soft palate (12.03.2008).

On gravity at the London Drinker festival 12/3/08. Golden coloured with a slight white head. Aroma of grapefruit and sweet malt. Flavour of creamy sweet corn with a muted, citrus hop, dry finish. This was the least pleasant of the five golden ales sample at the festival - by a wide margin.

Cask (gravity) @ The National Winter Ales Festival 2008, Manchester, UK. Light light unclear light to medium amber color with a small - small, virtually none head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity / berry. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration. Alcohol is very well hiden. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is flat. (180108)

Cask gravity at Bricklayers Arms 2nd Annual Yorkshire BF 08. Smells of homemade peach wine. Like peach flavoured turps. Bit of plastic on aroma. Doesn’t taste of 11%, but it’s just too acidic. Aroma has good fruit, but no great body. It’s like my dad’s homemade peach wine.

Cask conditioned at the Royal Oak, Bath 21/2/08. Deep golden coloured with a slight white head. Aroma was sweet with some crunchie bar honeyed sweetness and grassy hops. Flavour was similar with plenty of mild honey and a decent dry finish. Very drinkable.

[i] [b] Cask, gravity at Merton Winter Beer Festival Feb 08 [/i] [/b] Very light in colour in fact straw coloured I would say stunningly clear and with a lovely white bubbly head, so far so good. The citrus (grapefruit?) are there from the start as are some lovely floral notes, so great looking good, great aroma, but you know the taste is a slight disappointment, don’t get me wrong there is absolutely nothing wrong with this beer far from it but I thought it would be far better than it was. Starts with a good, fresh,sweet floralness and has a nice hoppy back bite it’s tasty, it’s a lovely session beer, and maybe it’s just a bit more subtle than I expected but the aroma and appearance promised so much more, still hat’s off to Abbeydale for a very good beer.

[i] [b] Cask conditioned at Far from the Madding Crowd, Oxford on the Ratebeerian day around Oxford 09-02-08 [/i] [/b] Poured light gold with little or no head, wonderfully clear. If I’m being critical I think it was served just a tiny bit on the warm side. Good sweet fruits on the aroma and then some fruits in the mouth some citrus from the hops, bitterness a bit soft, I liked this but have had much better from Abbeydale.

Cask handpull, Far From the Madding Crowd, Oxford, RB Pub crawl 08. Pale gold with thin white head. Bit buttery, golden ale with some hop. Bit soapy too. Slightly acidic. Not my favourite.
