On tap at the brewery.
Aroma is malt forward with tons of dark toasted breads, toffee, burnt sugar and dark caramel. Light roast and chocolate notes. Light oak notes with some bourbon notes. Medium light alcohol notes.
Pours black with medium sized, thick, pillowy, mocha head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers.
Flavor is rather sweet with lots of chocolate, toffee, dark caramel and toasted bread notes. Moderate bitterness and medium light alcohol notes. A bit of dark fruit. A bit of burnt sugar. Light bourbon and oak notes.
Mouthfeel is full bodied and a bit creamy and sticky with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a really impressive bock that would pass for a BA imperial stout. Tons of complex malt character with layers of toasted bread, caramel, toffee, chocolate and roast. Alcohol is well hidden. Barrel character is lighter than I was expecting. Really nice mouthfeel.
