(Bottle 33 cl) Hazy amber colour with floating impurities. Small, off-white head. Cookie-like aroma of the added chestnuts - or rather chestnut flour. Quite light-bodied, dry without any real bitterness. A bit too highly carbonated. 291005

[At Fynske Øldage 2005] An orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet malty with slight notes of alcohol and yeast. The flavor is sweet with light notes of alcohol as well as some fruit. It lacks character.

(Bottle 33 cl) Bronze coloured, slightly hazy with a huge sediment, pretty much without any head. Very wonderfully spicy from the hemp, malty and slightly sweet. Unusual but recommended. I do indeed like these hemp beers. Organic. 150403

A hazy amber beer with a small light brown head. The aroma is some weird spicy one, while the flavor is of earth, dust, and walnuts - not my beer.

(Bottle 75 cl) Amber-coloured, slightly hazy, nice, fine head. Indefinable fruity nose, pronounced hoppiness. Very atypical for a Christmas beer (considering Danish standards, but I guess the French couldn’t care less....) but actually quite refreshing. Organic - as with all Canardous. 251204

(Bottle 33 cl) A "Bierre rousse" which clearly shows: this beer really is red and unfiltered - seriously unfiltered. Most pronounced is a pretty heavy bitterness - it’s close to being overwhelming. Fortunately this beer also has lots of good malt making it quite a good experience. But too bitter to be excellent. Organic. 270504

(Bottle 33 cl) Greyish yellow, very hazy, almost no head. Appears pretty flat but actually isn’t. Actually this is a spelt-beer, but I sense some ginger-notes. Rather unusual. Organic. 140404

(Bottle 33 cl) Another organic beer from the very interesting Canardou brewery. Orangey and opaque, looks pretty much like a "Hefeweizen". I wonder if there’s actually wheat in this. The head is almost aggressive, fighting to get out of the bottle. Incredibly fresh and flowery in both nose and aroma. Not very full in body, but dry with a well balanced bitterness in the aftertaste. Excellent spring- or summer beer. 070404

(Bottle 33 cl) Almost black with a massive, brownish head. Actually reminds me of a stout. Brewed with three grains: barley, buckwheat and spelt - a rather unusual combination. A long bitterness that reaches the palate. Very unusual French beer. Organic. 020404
