Description
Horn of Odin is produced by Shire Honey at a micro Meadery on the outskirts of York and is run by Pete Allanson, a 3rd generation beekeeper. He has produced mead since 2014 with honey from his bee hives in Yorkshire.

6/12/2023. Bottle shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear golden with no head. Aroma is spiced orange, honey, flowers, orange blossom, mild spiced notes. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, minimal carbonation. Nice Cointreau elements to this. Very sippable.

Quite sweet with light but developing bitterness. Moderate body, oily, low carbonation. Warming boozy finish, just a little harsh but quite sippable.

20/8/2023. Bottle shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear golden with a minimally bubbly head. Aroma is intense honey, flowers, heather, methanol, lockets, cough medicine. Quite heavy sweetness, moderate bitterness. Quite full bodied, smooth and sticky, low carbonation. Starts a little harsh but develops pretty well.

Taste is sweet, fruity, honey, caramel, pineapple, coconut, milky, with alittle tartness. Medium bodied, low carbonation, sweet and slightly tart finish. Quite drinkable.
