Man these guys are good, 2nd Cerebral beer tonight, and I love a good schwarzbier and this is a good schwarzbier. Nicely profiled with a gentle coffee note. Semi-sweet overall. Bitter chocolate, light coffee, bready, light caramel or toffee notes.

Bright yellow gold, light hazy, full white foamy head. Nose has a light citrus element, lightly floral, light mango, something else clearly hoppy but I've never smelled in a beer before, so that's neat. Lightly doughy nose. Doughy and bready malts, with a very light gentle hopping featuring more of that unique element as noted. The citrus aspect leans a little lemon, maybe pomelo rind? Very interesting, curious. Semi-dry, nicely balanced. Light bitterness. Velvety texture. Really a neat and unique IPA, and that's saying something given the IPA fatique everyone has by now.

10 ounce at the Aurora Arts location - hazy gold - frothy lace - medium body, creamy texture - the spicy yeast expression is complimented well with spicy and herbal hop bitterness - the yeast opens up a lot more as it warms, whereas when cold it is hard to distinguish under the moderate to high hop bitterness - herbal finish - enjoyable.

8 ounce at Aurora Arts location - oily black pour - appears still and feels still and slick in the mouth - flavor is a complex blend of tamarind, chocolate, espresso, oak, bourbon, red wine, light smoke, blackberry jam, light umami on the back end - warming, but given the strength, it’s much less boozy than you’d think - nice complexity and relative balance - dig it.

10 ounce at the Aurora Arts location - hazy gold - frothy, well-sustained head - nose is beautiful oak, lacto, and underlying complex bugginess - very light acetobacter - smell is moderately reminiscent of a gueuze - light-bodied and bone-dry - bright lacto leads, with some lemon fruitiness - buggy funk through the middle and finish - a light bit of acetic acid on the tail end - lingering white grape and oak - it’s lovely.

Pint at the Aurora Arts location - clear gold - lively carbonation kicks up a frothy head - clean, crisp, and dry, with a floral closing bitterness and lingering flint/mineral - really refreshing and super clean - may have found my bbq beer for the remainder on the summer.

Love these blends, the apple brandy and cognac come though a lot but balanced by the EC. Lots of vanilla, chocolate, and dried fruit notes. Hints of apple and leather, fun one!
