Romans are resin, citrus, strawberry, straw and lettuce. Flavors are similar to nose. Add in some stone fruit. Just slightly more sweet than bitter with good carbonation. Full round body. Not bad.

8 ounce at Congress Park location - black pour with a moderate ring of dark tan lace - the barleywine is very forward in this blend in both the nose and flavor - strong treacle and date that make the underlying stout notes present more red wine-like with notes of juicy raspberry - vanilla is subdued (I would not guess it was there going in blind) - the oak is potent through the middle, with the finish bringing the whiskey and lingering sticky treacle barleywine notes - scratches the barleywine itch, which I always have this time of year in Colorado - real good.

Light strawberry, apricot, musty juniper, coriander, and butterscotch. Sweet and juicy, with a big, pulpy bitterness. Medium body, dusty, and sharp. Quality.

Bottle share at CBJ. Thanks to the team for the bottle. Near clear amber brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Airy malts, a good caramel and toffee richness. Some alcohol spice. Rich bourbon soaked ripe fruits. Light and semi dry finish. Spicy alcohol linger. No surprises but a tasty barleywine.
