Black Country Beano. Cask at the Jolly Crispin (I think!). Light haze on this amber gold beer. Good pale cream coloured head. Palate is softish with fine carbonation. Creamy malt and lactose. Light marmalade hops, little hop spice. Semi dry finish.

Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, toasted, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, wood. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Cask at the Craven Arms, Birmingham. Poured a clear chesnut brown with a bubbly white head. The aroma is malty, but a little weak. The flavour is medium to strong bitter, malty and with an aromatic hoppiness on the palate. The bitterness was a bit of a shock with the first mouthful, but it grew on me the more I drank.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 6/09/2012. Golden with a slight white head. Light aroma of floral hops, with a touch of citrus fruit. Easy drinking, with some sweet malts, more fruit and moderately bitter finish. Good.
