2$ can from vintage. Slight haze on pale color with a big fading white head. Nose is rather fresh typical pale lager. First taste oddly has some saison attributes and a little pepper. Decent carbonation. Maybe some slag in there, like gramma's permanent hair treatment or J&L blast furnace discharge. Now getting some fresh cut hay in there as well. Yea, in the middle that farmhouse saison attribute stuff keeps coming on and its not in a bad way. It actually adds some respected personality to this. Not sure where we got the helles lager style from, it doesn't say that on the can. Pretty good stuff, could drink a few of these babies. In the end, its just a quaffable well balanced lager that's unique compared to all the macros out there, yet still goes down just as civilized. No real bitterness to speak of but there is some noble hop personality ever present.
