Chillhops G‘Day Mate Tropical Pale Ale 4.4% It pours quite a hazy straw gold with thick rocky fluffy soap looking foam that leaves some lacing behind after lingering. It’s got a nice bright light hop bouquet Ruth some dank musty herbaceous elements. Very light bodied verging on watery. The taste is joined with a surprisingly dank sort of musty mimosa flavor. Not at all what I was expecting though it sure is interesting.

I bought a six-pack from Chillhops so I need to get through the hoppy beers… I’m fairly sure a few of those will be tomorrow’s Tuesday Tasting… Chillhops Chur Bro! Double IPA 8.3% Fairly clear orange gold with thick off-white foam that leaves some soapy lacing behind. The aroma is like a mountain IPA so midway between a juicy hazy and a west coast ipa. It’s got some rich dank double ipa vines but loads of woodsy prickly pear and guava. Very enticing aroma. Medium bodied with a somewhat slick mouthfeel that oozes green bitter herbal hops with that guava and prickly pear joined by mango and papaya plus sweet rich malts and a slick finish. This is very smooth and while there’s a touch of heat it’s just enough to stop you from pounding this back in one go so it’s appreciated.

Can split at L6 Tasting, thanks to Tipple, 25/05/23. Hazed orange with a just off white cap that retains well. Nose is mellow citric flesh, creamy malts, orange zest, herb. Taste comprises tangerine, soft malts, papaya, grass, melon, light perfume. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with balanced light juicy hop bitterness. Tidy enough easy drinking IPA.

6th Floor bottleshare. Thanks to Tips for the Can. Hazy orange gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, mildly dry, late emerging fine carbonation. Fluffy pale malts, decent creamy sweetness. Modest pine. Pleasant light hoppy fruits, traces of mandarin and lime. Very mild hop spice on the light finish. Nice IPA but lacks a little punch.
