Bottle at The Beer Stall, Singapore. Poured a clear straw colour with a frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is cereals, bready malt, light tropical fruit hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter sweet with a sweet grainy fresh light toffee caramel malt, light fruit, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average to lively carbonation.

On tap at 65 Peel. Pours orange and slightly hazy. Grapefruit, smoke, orange, touch of lemon, very smokey finish. Aroma is a touch stale and the smoke takes over a bit. Not my favourite.

On tap at Kowloon Taproom. Pours amber. Toffee, orange, some big yeasty esters and a dry toast thing with an unpleasant astringent finish. Quite thin. Not good.

Bottle bought in Hong Kong in November 2017. Amber with a medium white head. Rather soft with hops, citrus, grass and malt. The body was medium as was the bitterness.

Bottle from The Beer Stall, Singapore. Poured a clear medium brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is creamy caramel malt, dry roast, charcoal, liqourice hop. The flavour is moderate sweet, liqourice bitter with a smooth, malty, dry coffee liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle at The Beer Stall, Singapore. Poured a clear copper colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt, resin woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a crisp, dry skunky malt, metallic resin hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A little one dimensional. No fruit and not much going on other than the resin hops. Not a classic.

Big thanks! 330 ml. Bottle split by two @ “HKHK” Tasting. BBF 23-2-2017. Deep orange, little white head. Nose is dull yeast, dough, weak, too sweet with almost dark fruit jam notes. Taste is dull flat yeast, oddly sweet on top, candy, dough,… Body is likewise, totally lacking in hop. Quite weak & not all that enjoyable, weakest beer of the tasting.

Big thanks! 330 ml. Bottle split by two @ “HKHK” Tasting. Touch darker orange, few white bubbles. Nose is sweet smoked malt, Lapsang Souchong, bacon I suppose, pleasant sweeter smoked malt, nice. Too little carbonation which is a shame but who is pleasant, good classical DE profile with the right sweetness, sweet smoked Lapsang Souchong malt, bacon I suppose, malt, sugar, smoked wood,… Shame about the carbonation but quite a good mix of sweetness & smoked malts. Neat.

Weicher, mild getreidiger Antrunk. Wenig gewürzig, milde trockene Bitterkeit. Okay. 8/8/7/7//8
