On tap at Blacksalt Tavern, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small white head. Aroma is reminiscent of a dark mild, with earthy bready malt, soil, and a trace of dusty cocoa. Flavour is very dirty, with lots of earthy notes, soil-like notes, and some mustiness. Not sure what they were going for here, but this is a muffled, dirty mess.

On tap at Blacksalt Tavern, pours a hazy dull orangey blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals somewhat herbal and sour fruity hops, with traces of diacetyl. Flavour follows suit, with a pretty rank, herbal, vegetal hop character. Maybe it's the hop variety, or maybe it's the execution - either way, the hops aren't expressed nicely here.

Toast and light roast. Deep dark brown with a nice beige head. Woody and toasty notes with a light finish. Well done.

On tap at Blacksalt Tavern, pours a hazy copper amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out dull earthy hops, subdued pine, and bready malt. Flavour is pretty laid back for an IPA, with musty, earthy hops, some pine, and bready malt. West coast-style but missing oomph. Decent enough.

On tap at Kowloon Taproom, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out subtle diacetyl, with caramel malt and resinous hops in back. Flavour is sweet and somewhat buttery, with resinous hops, pine, mineraly notes, and enough diacetyl to detract significantly. Not a disaster but this needs cleaning up.

Bottle from Ben’s Independent Grocer, DC Mall, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear copper colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt, big dry smoky bacon. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light, slightly watery, grainy malt, light smoky, light dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. It’s all about the smoky bacon and much of that is up front. The finish was light and somewhat disappointing.
