Tap at pizza paradiso Washington DC. A hazed yellow straw coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is dank, green mango, grass, floury wheat. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, tangerine, sticky citrus, grapefruit, little pissy. Palate is semi sweet, resinous hop, sticky moderate fine carbonation. Good.

16 oz can that was put up on 9/2/22 apparently and acquired from the nice people at Half Time. A Belgian style dark strong ale, one of my top styles. I call on my New Belgium globe glass to serve duty this early evening. I view a dark mahogany colored body with a supportive top of light tan foam. The carbonation can only be called strong. The scent is properly representative with plenty of dark fruit, yeast and grain. Good start. I lift the glass for the drink. Hmm, I will say that this is a quite good domestic effort at a complex beer. I detect dark plums, a touch of dates, lots of malt, grain, a small sweetness and the same with bitterness and earth. Nicely thick and chewy. I am pleased with this one.

16 oz can. Aroma has mild citrus with mellow pine. The elevated hop level gives the stout more of a black IPA character. Mild roast with pine and herbal hops. Pretty well balanced.

16 oz can at RI. Brewfest 2023. Aroma is deep plum. And mild berries. Flavor is nice but it definitely tastes like plum berries. Lactose gives a nice mouthfeel without vanilla or sugar.

Canned 9/13/22, drunk fairly fresh (within a few weeks) and again on 12/12/22. Rosey-pink-violet-copper with a massive, pink-tinged head showing strong retention. This was so disgustingly sweet when fresh that I was left no choice but to dump it out and try to age the other two cans I had left. Aged one cold and one warm and this warm one shows obvious refermentation in the can, producing massive, expansive head. Smells like mineral/plaster and strong elderberry. Sugars in here combine to give more of a rich blueberry juice character. Don't get much more than the light mineral/earth/plaster as far as saison character and it just feels like a lot of sugar and elderberry. In mouth it's soft, with plentiful, slick sugar. Tartness from the elderberry and lots of juiciness. It's definitely less sweet 2.5 months later, but not enough to make it drinkable. Maybe it needs another 2-3 months? I mean, regardless, it's shameful they released this beer that essentially felt unfermented. Still an easy dumper even after sitting warm for 2.5 months.
