Backlash Brewery is a micro-brewery based in Northumberland. Established in 2018 by members of the local community to serve the local community, offering craft ales at affordable prices. We offer a range of beers from light Blonde Ales to Brown Ale and Bitter. We are also always looking at new recipes and brands to expand our range.

Cask, third pint. @Nottingham Camra Beer Festival, Nottingham (England). 11/10/2024 [#7.895 Global - #981 England - #2 Backlash Brewery] Pours pale amber with a small head. Aroma: plenty of caramel, toffee, seaweed and dried fruits. Taste: dried fruits, mild smokey malts and caramel. Sweet palate. Next one, please!

Cask, third pint. @Nottingham Camra Beer Festival, Nottingham (England). 09/10/2024 [#7.831 Global - #944 England - #1 Backlash Brewery (My English brewery #287)] Pours dark brown with a bubbly head. Aroma: chestnut, smoked malts and brown bread. Taste: watery smoked malts and nuts. Long nutty aftertaste. Next one, please!

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear '23, day two, 29/11/23. Light reddish amber with a faded beige cap that veers edgewards. Nose is caramel, dried fruits, biscuit, herb. Taste comprises red berries, biscuit, toffee, light spice, fruit slice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Passable for the style.

Cask at the pigs ear beer festival 2023. A mostly clear deep Ruby red brown coloured pour with a loose beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, butterscotch toffee woody bark, jammy fruits, vanilla, maybe a little diacetyl. Flavour is composed of semi sweet really dry, woody, bark, dry grains, some toffee. Palate is thin, drying finish, little chalky.

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2023, day - London. Pours clear copper-gold with a bubbly white head. Light sweet flavour with pleasant toasted crackers, brown bread, nips of pine, earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Nicely balanced finish. Tidy.

8/9/2023. Cask pour shared by danlo, cheers Ed! Pours very dark brown with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, light roasted malt, strawberry, slight nutty and ashy edge. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, average carbonation. Quite decent.

Cask at Newcastle Beer and Cider Festival 2023. Hazy brown colour, beige foam head and aroma of malt, chocolate, strawberry. Taste is malty, roasty, chocolate & strawberry, with earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, roast bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.
