Very dark brown colour with lasting thin head. It's nice that the very earthy smoky peaty elements of the whisky come through well in this beer. However they are not dominating too much. Still a solid amount of roasted malt bitterness too.

Can thanks to a trade with Scopey, at home, 08/08/21. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a good sized beige head that stays for the show. Nose is burnt toffee, smoked malts, bonfire, ashen tones, dried fruits. Taste comprises fruit cake, smoked malts, charr, liquorice, toffee, singed brown sugars, light spice, campfire esters, light medicinal aspects. Medium bodied, fine to lightly prickly carbonation, semi drying close. Solid flavoursome porter ... the smoke is ever present but never OTT.

23/11/2020. Can bought from Whisky World. Pours almost black with a small beige head. Aroma is peaty, woody, ash, whisky, black treacle, rich liquorice, roasted malt, black coffee. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Full body, slick, soft carbonation. Slight tart edge accompanied a smoky peat finish. Nicely done.

Can from Fountainhall Wines, Stoney. It pours darkest brown to black with a medium bubbly beige head. The aroma is rather lovely, toasty and rich roast, peat reek, dull medicinal vibes, ash, chocolate cake, cacao nibs, touch if sweetness, rocky road and brownie. The taste is dry, toasty, rich roasted malt, earthy, deep peat smoke, peat reek, umami, burnt toast, ash, slightly medicinal, some fruity vibes, cherry, rocky road, some spice and some warmth with a drying and smoky finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Works well. Rich, smokey and robust.
