Bottle, 8%. Clear brown with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted, little chocolate and a little nut. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, medium sweet, little nut and a little bitter.

Bottle @ Højbjerg tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are caramel, nuts, fruits, malt and hops. Light bitter finish.

Bottle shared by sebletitje at RBBWG 2017 in Antwerp, thanks. Brown beer from Niger - a country I wasn’t expecting anything else but pale lager from, honestly speaking. Stable and moussy, pale beige-ish head, clear coppery bronze robe. Aroma of old dried brown bread, lots of unnatural iron, caramel, old toast, straw, dry nut shells. Neutral lager-like onset, sweet and very caramelly maltiness with a toasty bitterish edge, strong metallic ’zing’ throughout, minerally notes, smooth and oily body, some spiciness in the end but probably more from alcohol than from hops, because the finish is on the thin side - which would not have been the case with a bit more generous hopping; metallic feeling persists. I do not think this is a brown ale at all: this is very clearly a ’generic’ (but unusually strong) dark Bock-style lager of a kind more often seen in ’dark’ Africa (though far from common), with nothing more than plain and simple malt fruitiness and a very metallic and one-sided character. Industrial to the bone but compared with the standard pale lagers more commonly produced in African countries, this is admittedly not that bad.

Thank you Sebletitje! 500 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG VI (2017). Dark amber brown, little head. Nose is metallic, old herbal bark, stale kitchen spices, thin lager. Taste is herbal, metallic spices, old leaves, low kitchen spices,... Body is metallic lager, low caramel lager, feels lower than 8 % ABV. Not great on its own but far better than most African beer I have had so far.
