750ml only, and hard to find. Looks terrible - dull with no head. The aroma is water with light acetaldehyde and fusels. Fairly sweet taste, light malt and light glue. Not as sour as their other beers. OK, for a change.

Light gold colour with a little bit of head. The aroma is vaguely malty with light plastic. Light body, a little more plastic, with grainy notes.

Pale gold. No shelf life - you’ve really got to find the stores that turn this over. At its best, Fiji Bitter is bland, and has little character. Yes, that is what it aspires to, because otherwise it’s papery. You won’t really ever find much malt or hop or any of that stuff, but it wins for having fewer overt flaws that the other Fijian beers.

Golden colour. There isn’t much head. The aroma is slightly spicy from hops, a novel plan in the south Pacific. The body is light, the finish a bit dry, but again there’s some hop, this time mixing with a little sourness. Not the cleanest or best lager, but might be the best one in Fiji.

Dull gold with no head. Aroma is a little cleaner and maltier than one would expect from a beer that aspires to Indian malt liquor status. Taste is sweet, dull with lots of corn. Alcohol kicks in late, but not nearly as offensively as the groin-kick you get from the Indian stuff. It does have a bit of an aftershock, however.

Bottle from Yamaichi. Strange nose, rather funky, some citrus, not malty at all. Unpleasant. Deep gold with a low, fine head. Somewhat sweet, corny, flavor, a bit of fruit, and something like gruel. Not all that beer-like and not very good in the least. Maybe the wheat makes it softer, but it smells gross and tastes as if it’s full of adjuncts.

22/VIII/2012 375ml bottle @ home - Brewed: 28/12/11, BB: 23/IX/12 (2012-959) Thanks to Thomas and Annelies for the bottle!

Clear blond beer, small aery white head, pretty stable, adhesive. Aroma: pretty nutty, some caramel, bit herbal. Mf: ok carbon, medium body, smooth texture. Taste: pretty malty, citric hops, herbal. Aftertaste: nice clean crisp bitterness, some citrus, hint of malts. Definitely not the worst beer ever, surprised at the low ratings. Maybe I was thirsty? :p
