Description
Ideal Day Family Brewery are focused on three things: family (it’s in the name), beer (also, kind of in the name) and regenerative agriculture (bet you didn’t see that one coming). We are based in the Tamar Valley in Cornwall which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Our brewery is on Crocadon Farm near Saltash.

We make beers focused on where our ingredients, especially our grain, comes from and how it was farmed. Our brewing inspiration comes from Belgium farmhouse traditions, classic British beers and modern innovation. It’s what we love doing. We strive to create tasty beers while supporting farmers who are saving our soils and ecosystems with regenerative agriculture.

Bottle. Beer Stop Dronfield. I like the 500ml format. Lightly hazed pale gold. Firm slim white foam. Handsome. Nose has bright clean dry grain. Sweet citrus and some pithy orange. Hint of resin and some oily herb. Very vibrant overall. Taste is semi dry and semi bitter. Very crisp (as promised on the label!). Fresh vibrant pow wow with a lean bitter finish. Nice.

Bottle. Beer Stop Dronfield. Hazed pale lemon gold with a thin firm lacing white foam. Good looker. Nose has straw and hay. Whiff of sauergut. Some fresh leaves peel hoppage. Some light notes of fresh cut grass. Taste has some malt sweetness but mostly this is about the herbal grassy bitterness. Very fresh and clean throughout. Fairly low carbonation as befits the style. Crisp lean clean finish. I rate St Mars of the Desert as best UK lager makers and this is up there with them. Lovely stuff.

Panda at home, thanks to Graham Grumbo, 04/06/24. Moderately hazed light golden orange topped with a white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is herb, grains, lemon nip, yeast esters, grass. Taste comprises yeast esters light white peppery spice, hedgerow, herb, grains, lemon rind, orange peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid easy drinking Belgo affair.
