16 oz. can from Orange & Brew. This pours like a dark beer, of course, under a thick tan head, but with big bubbles to help bring the head down swiftly. The main nose I have is of the vanilla, which gives the impression of a barrel aged beer, but minus the alcohol fumes. There’s also some chocolate impressions from the roasted malt. The taste returns to its stout roots as it were, with a nice chocolate roast malt dominating the palate. The vanilla slips in on the side. These flavors make it a little hard to pick out the blueberry. Maybe it’s there mostly as a bit of fruit tartness. The fruit and vanilla turn out to be understated, making this stray away from pastry stout territory and more of a bright, cocoa and vanilla stout.

16 oz. can from Orange & Brew. Nov. 15, '22 Giving this a full can sample now. Pouring straight from the can kicks up a thick head. Beer is closer to amber color than many pale ale. American hop load has some pine, but also offers up some citrus. Lighter mouthfeel makes for easy drinking, notwithstanding the snow outside that makes me want to pop a thick stout next. Taster #26 at Beer Under Glass. May 15, 2022 Solid American pale ale hop smell. With pine and resin, and that carries through into the taste. Propel Amber color in 5 oz glass, slight but firm layer of foam. Clean beer smell with a side note of caramel roast. Not quite as toasty as, say, a Vienna lager. Taste may be a little thin, close to the old dark beers, but it's well presented. Crisp and toasty, with the spice of Noble hops. Nice looking legs all the way down the glass.
