Last time I drunk Kaggen was in March 2009. Fantastic beer! Very, very nice and incredibly balanced. I love the deep black and very thick liquid. Aroma is fantastic. Its love in the bottle.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. (rating number 12000). Black, small head. Marked oaky whisky aroma. Sweet with licorce and coffee. The velvetty softness of the Stormaktsporter is there. The mouthfilling flavours of coffee, chocolate and licorice now have edges of oaky smoky whisky. Compared to the 2008 and 2007 regular versions of Kaggen I have on the side this appears a bit more boozy.

On tap. Black body with a dense brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, mocha, coffee and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is like promised from aroma, very balanced with a nice bitter and warming finish. Complex and lovely.

Draft @ Bishops Arms, Malmö. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma with some hints of citrus. Fruity sweetish malty hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter finish with some hints of citrus in the aftertaste.

Draught at 3 Små Rum, Göteborg, on August 22, 2009Very dark reddish brown to black color, fluffy tan head. Fruity, hoppy, roasted malt, sweet coca-cola like and juniper berries scent. Hoppy, sweet, licorice, peppermint, roasted, fresh taste. Moussy mouthfeel, low bitterness.Very nice, but a brown ale???

Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Clear dark brown, rocky head. Rich aroma of mango and lychee. Mid-dry and just lightly roasty with thick layers of hops. Flavourful and elegang - more of a hoppy ale that happens to be brown than a brown ale in the original sense. Finishes bitterish with dust and perfume. Very likable.

Cloudy golden color, big creamy head. Very nice fruity Amarillo aroma light body, dry toffee flavor, strong hopping. Most of the sourness from last week is gone, but the final is a bit overly bitter and a bit metallic.

Hazy deep blond color, creamy head. The aroma is partially fruity, there is a grainy malt flavor and strong hopping, quite aromatic. Unfortunately, this much expected beer is spoiled by a light infection that gives a sour touch to the aroma and a too high ending bitterness.
