En unik brygd, så liten att den nästan inte finns, åtminstone inte speciellt lång stund.....
Ekfatslagrad 3 månader, nu på Svensk-ek-rök-whisky-fat nr 473.
Stormaktsporter 2008 aged on a 30l cask previously holding Swedish Mackmyra Whisky (Swedish oak / smokey).

On tap at Borefts I. Opaque black stout, softish palate but also a little dry. Sweetish malt. The smoky whisky is subtle but contrasts nicely with the sweet wood of the oak. A warming and slightly spicy finish.

Volltreffer!! 11/13/13/13//13

Draught @ Borefts Beer Festival 2009 - De Molen.Unclear dark dark brown almost black color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, dark chocolate, caramel, smoke - peat, wood, light earth, honey ? Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily and creamy, carbonation is soft to flat. A Kaggen with extra smoke notes ! I prefere the original Kaggen ;O) but I also like this one very much .. world class beers from Närke. [20091030]

Had this at the Borefts Beer Festival, De Molen Brewery, Bodegraven, Netherlands 30-10-09 Pours black with a tan head. Not as smokey as I expected, but this is pure bliss, smooth chocolatey, quite wonderful beer. Can’t be bothered to put any more notes down suffice to say this is absolutely glorious stuff. On tap at Borefts Bier Festival, De Molen, sold as Smoke Swedish Oak. Black colour, almost no head. Aroma of lots of whisky, booze, liquorice (probably from the smoke), almost vegetable like. Flavour is sweet, boozy, roasted malts, whisky, vanilla, oak, smoke and liquorice root in the finish. The barrel aging didn’t do this beer good imo, but the base-beer is so wonderful it can’t go wrong anyway.

Tap @ BBF, smoked swedish oak. Dark color, short head. Aroma of roasted malt, lots of smoke and peat. It drives away the whisky and liquor notes from the regular version and does not make it better I’m afraid.

Cask@SBWF 2009
Opaque black color, small steady brown head. Licorice, roasted malts, vanilla, whisky and salt licorice in the nose. Licorice, espresso, sweet dark candies and whisky in the flavor. Lingering roastyness in the aftertaste. Very tasty, but normal version of Kaggen is still better.
