An orange beer with a thich white head. When pouring the beer a note of alcohol spreads far away from the glass, when You put the nose closer to the glass a light note of metal also appears, before quite strong notes of fruit mixes in. The flavor is very sweet and very fruity - especially notes from peaches, combined with notes of green grapes, towards the end the alcohol gains in strength and makes the end dry. An OK beer, but a bit too alcoholic for me.

(Bottle at Haket in Gothenburg) As Närke Vintermörker. Surprising minty scent, burnt coffee taste with sweet chewing gum after taste. Nice mouth feel. Black color. Tan to brown head.Earlier Rating of Närke Mörker: 7/14/2006 Total Score: 3.8Bottle from the brewery. Dark color, chocolate and burnt scent. Nice full taste, good body and bitterness.

(Draft at The Rover, Gothenburg) Clear brown color, tan head. Smokey scent. Hoppy and smokey taste with a bit metal and sweet chewing gum after taste. Medium bitterness. Medium mouth feel.

[Draught at McKinley’s Inn, Stockholm] Clear golden, creamy head. Pungent citric lemon jam aroma. Fairly sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Well hopped but with an unusual hop flavour dominated by soap and orange jam. Solid body. Salty finish with good bitterness. Good, but I preferred the hops in S11.

Draught. Golden colour, big white foamy head. Aroma is strong grapefruit, malts and some hops. Flavour is the same, in a very lovely balance. Long hoppyish bitter aftertaste.

Draught at Den Tatoverede Enke in Copenhagen, Denmark. This is the second beer in the "Julita series" from Närke Kulturbryggeri. This one is spiced with hops taken from the gene bank originating from Svalöf in Skåne, Sweden. Golden color, big white to tan creamy head. Mellow hoppy scent. Crispy spicy hoppy taste. Medium mouthfeel with low bitterness.

Second rating, as "Närke Äkta Slättöl".(Cask - real ale - at Bishops Arms, Västra Hamngatan, Gothenburg on August 25) Very clear, especially for a real ale, golden color, white head. Very hoppy, citrus and grape, passion fruit, scent. Hoppy and very bitter taste. Big bitterness. Soft mouth feel. Very nice!8/3/7/4/16 = 3.8I wouldn’t call the "Närke Slättöl" and the "Äkta Närke Slättöl" for the same beer, but hey, that’s me. First rating as "Närke Slättöl" from July 17, 2006.Draught at The Rover in Gothenburg, Sweden. Clear light golden color, white creamy head. Bitter hoppy taste with an American touch to it, some grapes. Medium high mouthfeel with high bitterness. Blueberry mixed with raspberry scent, a Swedish mix called "drottning" (queen). Smell is very ice-creamy. Very fruity scent. Bitter aftertaste. Very interesting scent, good taste but almost too bitter.9/3/8/4/17 = 4.1

�rg�ng 2005, Bishop’s Arms. Colourwise, this is pretty damn black, oily-looking and headless. Big nose of Irish whiskey, burnt fruitcake, chocolate, raisins, dense dark malts, tamari, alcohol...it takes a while to absorb all of this. Wow...just took a sip and did not expect that. Yes, it’s got some oiliness to it, but it’s surprisingly deft in body. The flavour has toasty elements leading the way, but they’re smoother and more stylish than any toastiness I’ve ever encountered before. Like a voluptuous Keemun tea, this shows an abundance of malty character, hints of Belgian dark chocolate, almonds, wood and a slight smokiness. Both rich and light on its feet, Stormaktsporter is a unique proposition to say the least. And a very tasty, fully realized one at that. Kick ass.

[Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm] Dark black with beige creamy head. Rich coffeea roma. Very sweet and caramelly with firm malt character. After the powerful aroma coffee gets more subdued. It finishes with medium bitterness. Certainly contains some really interesting flavours, but ends up being too sweet for me.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm) Colour is golden, with a thick, firm white head, lasting to the (very) bitter finish. Nose is very hoppy, with grass, hay and some hints of grapefruit. Taste is fruity, very hoppy, superbly dry. Hints of yeast. This beer is dominated by the very dry and bitter hop character (almost German pilsner style, although it is a pale ale), a very refreshing and tasty beer. Yet another successful experiment from Närke.
