651 mL bottle. Pours a cloudy dark amber color with a medium light tan head that lasts awhile. Not much on the nose but a faint sweet malt. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet caramel and a nice hoppy finish but does not hide the alcohol well. A good barleywine from Sante Fe.

Pours with a small white head that fades. Very hazy orange body. Aroma is pretty decent with a bit of an exotic fruit note to the hops, and some caramel behind it. Taste is caramel, a bit metallic with some hops, not well balanced. Fizzy and thin mouthfeel.

Bottle #2283. 750 ml bottle provided by heemer77 for the 10/18 tasting. Pour is deep brown black, smallish tan head that falls fast. Aroma roasty maltiness with some pine hoppiness. Taste starts nice with the roastiness, but turns really sharp and metallic - overload of pineiness and sharp alcohol. Not terribly pleasant burning aftertaste. As it hit room temp, it got better quite a bit better.
