Bottle #2283. 750 ml bottle provided by heemer77 for the 10/18 tasting. Pour is deep brown black, smallish tan head that falls fast. Aroma roasty maltiness with some pine hoppiness. Taste starts nice with the roastiness, but turns really sharp and metallic - overload of pineiness and sharp alcohol. Not terribly pleasant burning aftertaste. As it hit room temp, it got better quite a bit better.

Bomber bottle sampled at Pre-DLD. Despite the abv strength of this one, shows some interesting ESB character. A nice hop load that doesn’t rely exclusively on the American gargle-blasters, balanced with some supportive malts. Don’t know the vintage of my sample, but all agreed this was over-aged. Some papery oxidation and phenol cuts into some interesting flavors.

This came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with red highlights and a large creamy dark tan head. The aroma was roasty, toasty and and lightly bitter with a floral hop note. The flavor was nutty, roasty, malty and had a hint of fruity hops and chocolate. The finish was long, nutty and malty. Nice.
