Description
Founded in 1900, Cervezas Ambar is an independent Spanish brewery that maintains the spirit of a constantly evolving family enterprise. With 18 beer varieties, it has more specialities than any other brand. It continues to produce beer at the same brewery where it began operations in the early part of the last century, located in the historic San José neighbourhood. There they maintain the craft processes of the 20th century, with their own malting facility and the only open vat fermentation room still in use anywhere in Spain.

Bottled (thanks Bov!). Yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is lemon and citrusfruits after it’s been a while in the glass. While pouring a really dull grainy and dusty nose. Flavour is quite grainy, rubbery and strange sodapop sweetness. Now where is the vodka?

Bottled (BB 09/2009). Yellow color, small white head. Skunky cardboard aroma, awful .. at first .. then lemony soda pop nose. Very radler-like: sweetish citrus, soda pop, blaah blaah ...Only interesting thing is that this is a radler of 5%, can’t trace vodka!

Bottle. Vegetable aroma, hint of port. Almost clear amber colour. Small yeast bits floating around. OK caramelly flavour, good pepper note. Has a hint of port, but no more than acceptable to me.
