Description
We are two brothers, in love with the world of beer for several years. It was by brewing at home that we decided in 2009 to make it our profession.

La Barbaude is a family-owned craft brewery. We develop our beer recipes and then manufacture them in our premises with respect for brewing traditions. In the heart of the city of Nîmes (500 m from the train station and the arena), the brewery is at the crossroads of different local cultures: Languedoc, Cévennes, Camargue, Rhône Valley ... Regularly, we will present new beer recipes inspired by products of these terroirs.

Bottle, 0.33l. Cloudy deep golden color with large frothy off-white head, huge amount of floating particles and sparkling appearance. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, mango, pine and grass. Taste starts with moderate sweet toasted malt, follows by grassy and fruity esters, astringent mouthfeel and quite long aftertaste. Medium to full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. This one has a sharp bite like a croc on the label...

Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy dark brown color with small frothy light brown head, nice lacing, lots of floating particles and sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, raspberries, roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Taste starts with light sweet, but rich roasted malt, follows by refreshing fruity acidity, mouthfeel is warming, while finish is light bitter with tart roasty aftertaste. Medium to full body, thick texture and average carbonation in palate. Interesting combination of fruits in stout-a-like brew...

Bottle, 0.33l, shared with ElDesmadre. Murky brown color with small frothy tan-like head and many body particles floating. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, toffee and with some fruity hints. Taste starts with rich coffee and sweet chocolate, follows by licorice and roasty sourness, while finish is moderate bitter. Full body, syrupy texture and average carbonation in palate. I would rather call it sour stout, albeit very good brew...

Gusher, but managed to control it. Huge offwhite coarseish head. Clear reddish amber body with carbonation. Spicy cedar wood and linoleum aroma with lavender and fruit notes. Dry earthy cedar wood taste with licorice and lavender notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, slightly fizzy mouthfeel. Dryish spicy earthy barnyard aftertaste with wooden grainy strawy notes. It’s quite nice, but a bit discordant and too dry. Probably has fermented more in the bottle. (0.33l bottle, from some shop in the centre of Montpellier.)

Small white head. Slightly hazy yellow body with visible particles. Resiny fruity honey aroma with floral notes. Dry spicy wooden honey taste with floral notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry papery resiny aftertaste with boiled water notes. Lingering bitter finish. It’s OK, but not really that good. (0.33l bottle, from shop in Montpellier, France.)

Bottle picked up in the Carmargue, Southern France, June 2013 consmed at home Thursday 7th November 2013 Pours amber, a little sweet initially but then with an alright bitterness, slight fruitiness. A better beer than I was expecting, a little caramel combining with the fruitiness. Ok A6 A4 T6 P4 Ov12 3.2
