Sampled @ Craftbier Messe Mainz 2016. Sehr trübes orange goldenes Bier mit mittelgroßen weißen schaumkrone. Geruch sehr hopfig, grasig, frisch. Geschmack sehr hopfig bitter, Grasig, fruchtig, frisch, gut.

26-11-16 // sample at CraftBeerMesse Mainz. Is it a hoppy Doppelbock or more a Double IPA? Very hoppy. But also got a strong malty sweet backbone. Hops are fruity. Well balanced, powerful.

Pours a slightly hazy darker shade of golden, topped with a large and quite stable frothy white head. Nice and obvious citrusy aroma with grapefruit notes upfront. Medium bitterness with citrus presence also in the taste (slight soury feel). Light body, medium lasting aftertaste though a bit gentler.

0.33l bottle from bierlinie in berlin. bb 16.07.2016. pours a cloudy chestnut with a nice dense steady creamy head with good retention and lacing. aroma of roast, dark chocolate, spruce, dark fruits. flavour of chocolate, bread, nuts, raisins, herbs. somewhat astringent mouthfeel. not sure how the tonka beans are supposed to taste though -- vanilla?

0.33 l bottle from ’BierPost.com’, best before December 2016. Hazy, straw yellow with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, moderately spicy, a bit fruity and a little yeasty aroma of lemon peel, clove, banana and coriander. Sweetish, quite spicy, moderately fruity and slightly yeasty taste of banana, lemon peel, clove, coriander and licorice root, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, minimally sourish and slightly grassy and very spicy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Okay!

Tap at Naiv, Frankfurt, 1st October 16. Pours a reddish brown, aroma is malt, citrus. Taste is bitter and sweet, full bodied, candy, some citrus. OK
