Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy red to almost brown color. Bar pour yielded no head and it doesn’t leave any lacing.
The smell had some light toasted caramel malts with a light piney hops to it.
The taste followed the nose.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued.
Overall, this was a pretty decent beer, nothing over the top.

Drought. Inky black with beige creamy head, very weak coffee aroma, medium carbonation, bitter coffee beans taste, abrupt finish. Passable porter, not too watery.

Drought. Hazy yellow with creamy off white head, citrus peel aroma, low carbonation, bitter citrus peel flavored taste, abrupt finish. This was actually better than I had expected.

Drought. Dark red-brown with beige creamy head, faint coffee and liquor aroma, slightly bitter but strangely flat taste, low carbonatio, medium finish with bitter aftertaste. Could be better.

Mugs Ale House, Brooklyn tap: Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is citrus hops with a light malt backing. Moderately bitter, but not particularly pleasant citrus hops dominate the taste. I felt the motuhfeel was a little bit on the sharp side, not like some IPAs that combine bitterness with softness. Really a slow sipper for me. This, like everything by Kelso, did not impress this beer drinker.
