Bottle thanks to Tim. Pours cloudy golden apricot. Nose of grape skin, apricot seed, sweet and tart fruits, and musky basement aromas. Taste is apple core, mildly sweet apricot and grape skin followed by tart fermented kiwi and yeast. Very nice well balanced brew.

Tasted at the big “SeaBass has got to go” tasting courtesy of thecheeseman. I like the idea of drinking barrel aged death. Cool name. It pours deep murky mahogany with weak off white head. It smells of toffee, a little bit of used oak barrel as well as sweet kind of bourbony fudge brownie. The taste is tart and kind of red wine like as well as dark roasty and super thin in body.

Tasted at the big “SeaBass has got to go” tasting courtesy of askofficerfriendly. Pours deep mahogany with thin mocha like head. The aroma is caramel, prunes, black strap molasses, some booze and chocolate. The taste is black strap molasses, a little bit of prune and super rich dark cherries. To midway malts move forward creating additional notes of chocolate and fudge. Into the finish it seems to be sort of rich yet thin molasses nectar mixing with dark roasted malts, yum.

Bottle @ Seabass going away party, Jan15th ’11. Courtesy of Cheeseman.

Bottle @ Seabass going away party, Jan15th ’11. Courtesy of askofficerfriendly. Brune foncée, pas de mousse. Chocolaté et malte, avec fine couche de caramel. On peut y détecter un léger nez et palais de malt fumé qui est suivi par du café.

On tap at Freetail Brewpub SA(9Jan11)pours dark brown with a medium light tan head. Aroma is chile skins, smoked malt, roast, and pepper. Flavor is rich toasted and smoke malt body with a nice dose of spice and pepper finishing with the smoke. The smoke and pepper are so nice together, this was a standout of the trip to Freetail for me.

FIRST TO RATE! On tap at Freetail Brewpub SA(9Jan11)this was listed as Solera Fin, I was told wine barrels by the bartender. After reading the Solera reviews and seeing people referring to that beer as Solera IV i decided to add this, seems I had a different version, perhaps different barrels? Poured dark orange almost red with a medium off white head. Aroma is apple and dry white wine. Flavor is sour apple skins and toast. Some moldy wood and wine in the finish. This was semi-sweet but very dry in the finish. Reminded me of a Flemish red.
