Description
Maine’s First Dedicated Gluten-free Brewery

We create and offer craft beers that are safe for those with gluten intolerances and simply delicious to all.

Lucky Pigeon Brewing is a dedicated gluten-free brewery located in the historic Pepperell Mills in Biddeford, Maine. Lucky Pigeon started as the dream of Kathleen Pigeon (our original “Lucky Pigeon”) who had to remove gluten from her diet for health reasons. The idea took root during a family vacation where a visit to a craft brewery provoked the thought, “wouldn’t it be great to have a tasting room experience that folks who are gluten-free can enjoy?”

Taster at brewery. Brown pour, spotty head. Light malty aroma, toasty. Taste is a toasty malt edge, then dry, then trails off.

Sample on tap at 13th NH Brewfest. It's a virtually opaque cola medium brown with nice creamy khaki cap of head with decent retention and light lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt bordering on slightly burnt, weaker nuts, caramel. Taste is as aroma. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation with finish as taste. Overall, not a standout as a traditional brown ale but it's totally competent and great for gluten free.

13th annual New Hampshire Brewfest can pour. Aroma is mild citrus maybe a little bit of tropical fruit but then finishes with the odd aftertaste you get most gluten free beers. Not terrible but I guess if you had a gluten allergy this will be OK.

13th annual New Hampshire Brewfest can pour. Flavor is nutty, perhaps a little chocolate, medium body with an average texture. The positive is it doesn’t have any all flavors like most gluten-free brews Self preservation
