We named our brewery after Gavin's generous, adventurous and glamorous grandmother, Hetty Alice Frink, and we seek to honor her with every pint. We live in Portland with our tiny human and huge dog.

Dark brown. Thin head. Thin head. Has a dry, slightly toasty aroma, with some bitter chocolate. Comes across thin, but some decent maltiness. It's dry, but for balance this could benefit from sugars. The toastiness is decent, with a bit of bready notes. Finishes with medium bitterness.

473mL can, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma has toasted malt, a hint of cocoa, and dry bready malt. Flavour is gentle, with toasted malt, a tiny hint of cocoa, and light earthiness. Not much body, even for the style, but this is pleasant enough.

16 oz. can, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Nose has some spiciness from the rye, piney hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is biting, with lots of piney hops, light rye-like spiciness, and a thin, crisp biscuity malt backbone. Dry, piney, spicy, crisp finish. Very nice westie with subtle rye spiciness. Excellent as usual from Hetty Alice.

16 oz. can, pours a clear copper golden with a medium white head. Nose is full of tangy hops, light pine, some allium, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is big citrusy hops, some allium, light hop tang from the Krush, and biscuity malt. Citrusy finish, with a bit too much allium, but clean and vibrant. Very good.

16 oz. can, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out bright piney hops, resinous hop oils, and some toasted bready malt. Flavour has punchy piney hops, some resinous notes, and bready malt. Great oily resins and pine on the finish. Excellent old school westie.

16 oz. can, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma has some pine, gentle tangy white wine-like hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is super bright, with huge tangy hops, bright pine, gooseberry, and crisp biscuity malt. That NZ Cascade is quite something—super piney, tangy, white wine-like—damn. Excellent.

Bright amber with a medium head. Aroma’s a little toasty, a little biscuity. Balanced sweetness, biscuit, light caramel. This is good festbier.
