16oz can from Hops & Bottles. Near black pour with a thin layer of beige head. Can opens with a big noseful of caramel, then chocolate and light coffee notes. Taste focuses more on the bitter/sweet base, light roast, dark chocolate and a hint of coffee. Caramel takes a back seat to the other flavors. Smooth, sweet finish turns bitter.

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Dark, muddy brown pour, bubbly head fades. Sweet, fudgy aroma, Hershey's syrup. Taste too is all about the chocolate, overly sweet, caramel gets lost. Salt shows up at the very back as a sting on the tongue. Way too sugary.

Can at LaΔa's humanitarian PNW tasting for Ukraine. Hazy orange-golden body, off-white head. Orange, light caramel, woody and herbal notes in the aroma. Soft taste, caramelly maltiness, light sweet orange, some grainy touches, bit of resin, sweetish. Bit yeasty too. A Schwing and a miss! Though it's likely age that's the culprit.

Can at LaΔa's tasting. Hazy orange body, off-white head. Guava and some berries in the taste rather than outright passionfruit. BItterish, sour taste, guava, low passion fruit, slightly metallic and bitterish. Still, tastier than the sum of its parts!

16oz (thx, Renny!) @ Sales Force. Appearance: dark copper. Aroma: boozy, malty, sweet, caramel. Taste: along the same lines, very boozy, lots of malt, some oak and creamy notes. Overall: kinda rough and boozy, but enjoyable.

Amber-brown colour, with no head and it doesn't look like it has much carbonation. Fruity aroma, fairly sticky fruitcake stuff. On the palate, boozy, with a bit of toasty malt, sticky. It is a bit simple, and I have no idea what a Polish barley wine is.

Poured from 473mL can. Clear chestnut brown with no head. Nice aroma of dark fruit, wood, mild whiskey . Taste is a bit lacking, subdued and thin-medium bodied, whiskey dissipates. Average - aroma and taste doesn't line up.

473mL can. Pours murky brown with almost no white head. Aroma has whiskey, caramel malts, wood barrels, dark dried berries. Flavour has a ton of whiskey, barrels, toffee. Very tasty, but pretty unbalanced; needs a some work, or at least some time, to better meld these flavours together.
