Bottled 500ml. -Courtesy of heavy, shared with him and Marko. Yellow coloured, small to medium sized white head, pretty dry grainy nose. Dry grainy, slight cardboard and herbs with dusty grainy finish. Pretty average and boring.

Shiny yellow-golden body with a medium sized white head. Grainy, eggy aroma. Grainy, eggy taste, typically German, full. Something else but it’s illegible. Oh well.

Bottle under the name Sommer Bier. Light gold with a thin white head. Aroma is corn. Flavour is metallic malt, corn on a light bitter finish.

0.33 Litre bottle, well in date when opened in the South of France on 13th Sep 2013: I’d brought it over the Alps with me and few other beers to sip while in the sun. Pale straw colour with a head that dissipated as I poured the beer into a hotel owned tumbler. A white collar just sat there as I supped the beer. Dry, grainy and hoppy: a standard and well make German Pilsner with the typical clean and crisp taste you’d expect. Nothing cleaver or different, just a good refreshing beer and ideal in warm weather. Gets my usual score of three for a non-smelling lager/pilsner and loses points for the no show of the head.

0.33 Litre bottle: BBD Mar 2014, poured into a tumbler on my hotel room patio in Ste Maxime on 15 Sep 2013 after being brought over the Alps by me. Pale straw body with a haze, almost murky in fact. good deep white head that produced some heavy lacing. This is a lot drier in nature than it’s sister beer, the Naturtrub version. Clean tasting with a hop bitterness which overcomes the semi-sweet malts that help to balance the brew. Refreshing and pleasant.

0.33 Litre bottle BBD 03-2014, poured into a tumbler on my hotel patio on 13-10-2013 in Ste Maxime, France. Pale yellow and hazy with a few pieces of sediment floating around: a full white head sat on top. Slight herbal aroma with a crisp, refreshing feel to the body and taste: fairly sweet, which was a surprise, the malts must have hidden in the smell, only to assert themselves within the flavours, producing a different taste to what you’d expect.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass very dark, almost black. Starts soft malty, not as strong as exspected, modest dry. Mild roasty background. Some fruity hints of raisins. Finish mild-malty with some earthy notes. Not bad!

Bottled, thanks Bov! Clear golden, mid sized. Mildly fruity nose with some grass and white pepper. Mid sweet with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Firm with some honey and grain. Light salty bitterness. Firm and harmonious.

Hazy pale golden colour, good frothy white head, good retention. Aroma bread, hay, floral, dough. Taste light sweet and bitter, malty, grain, touch of citrus. Light body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Very mild finish, lacks character and bite.
