Short pour at Beasts & Brews. Pours a clear, brown color, with a big, frothy, tan head. The nose is rye, resin, black pepper, lavender, poppy, and dust. Malty and aggressively bitter. Medium body, with a sharp and slick palate. This is a solid and well made beer, if a bit harsh.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is bourbon, wood, dark fruit, brown sugar. Slick body, raisin, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, nice sweetness, enjoyed this.

Enjoyed on tap at Aviators, Denver Airport. I honestly didn't expect an imperial English IPA when I read the name, but I also didn't ask. That's a "just go for it" kind of beer. A clean but dark caramel color pour. Thick tan cream cap head. A quite bitter earthy like constant on the flavor here. Bold and bitter hops jump out front. Bready, earthy malt with almost a spice to it in the finish. I could guess a little rye, but I think I'm wrong based on descriptions. Has that citrus peel like bitterness. Not too bad. It's before 9am and I'm on vacation. It's kinda hard for any beer to be bad at this point. Unique brew here. I enjoyed it.

Bottle, shared with Michael. Pours black, with a small, fleeting, tan head. Peat, oak, and vanilla aromas up front, with some milk chocolate, cinnamon, and maple syrup. Sweet and syrupy, with a mild, sticky bitterness. Heavy body, with a dusty, hard mouthfeel. This is a big and boozy beer, with a lot of depth.
