Aged version. Amber-brown. Not much head. Subtle apricot and caramel aroma. Refined sugars and light acidity late to balance. Alcohol, estery subtlety. Nice - a refined bw that ages well.

On tap @ brewpub. Light, clear, golden appearance with a small white head. Quite mild noble hoppy, light pale malty lager nose. Grassy, German hops, crisp, pils, pale malty flavor. Mild noble hoppy aftertaste. Easy drinking session beer that I bet even my brothers (who love bud light) could enjoy.

Tap at the brewery - hazy light red - clingy lace - nose is fairly basic and unimpressive - clean, sugary sweetness and moderate esters - a wee bit of tangy, citrusy character - flavor is very sweet up front - sticky and sugary - develops a moderate citric tang and acidity in the middle - grapefruit, orange zest - some earthy, toasty grain and moderate hop bitterness - finish is moderately spicy alcohol - a bit hot - as it warms, it definitely becomes a little boozy - one-dimensional, but okay.

Draft at the brewery - dark reddish brown - sticky lace - nose of toffee, caramel, raisin, date, peat, moderate oxidation and light phenols - flavor is initially a bit tart and lightly oxidized - moderate sweet chocolate and toffee - raisin and cherry - tail end is a bit spicy, with some earthy, fruit skin bitterness - slightly off bitterness (aspirin) in the finish, but otherwise decent - this was tapped as a part of their 40th anniversary celebration, so I think they have been sitting on this keg for a while - the amount of oxidation would seem to place this a a few years old.

Tap @ Bull and Bush. Slightly hazy, golden yellow appearance with a small, white head. Mild noble hoppy, light pale malty nose. Somewhat crisp, a little dry, light pale malty, lightly hoppy flavor. Pretty boring flavor but it’s not a bad beer right now on the porch as I’m sweating.
